Accountable to the Head of BBC High Risk for the effective provision and delivery of safety and security advice for hostile environments, high risk events and high risk activities to management and staff including freelancers across the spectrum of the BBC and its activities. Based in London, you will work in a small team delivering specialist security and risk management advice and recommendations to BBC senior managers, producers and journalists across a number of departments. You will have a primary divisional focus as directed by Head of High Risk. Your advice and support must be practical and sensitive to the needs of the business at all times.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
-Extensive experience of operating in hostile environments, and a recent and sustained track record of providing security and safety advice for personnel and infrastructure against a spectrum of threats.
-A broad understanding of international security issues, current affairs and a working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation.
-A proven track record of support to deployed staff in a dynamic, operationally focused environment.
-The intellectual rigour and proven ability to synthesise information from multiple sources to provide effective advice and assessment.
-Comfortable with working to tight deadlines and able to respond to short notice assignments. Able to embrace uncertainty.
-Ability to anticipate operational safety requirements based on imperfect information and indicators
